The Hideaway

The Hideaway Supporters’ Council exists to support the work of Christ Church Walmsley, Scouting and Guiding groups, and to maintain and develop the Hideaway building.

The Hideaway is a modern, purpose-designed building, which is currently the Headquarters, for 5 Scouting and Guiding groups:-

  • Walmsley Rainbows
  • 14th (Christ Church Walmsley) Brownies
  • 78th Bolton Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

The Building is also the home of Egerton Playgroup, Stargaze Dance Academy, Walmsley Junior Church, Sue Cain Sound Therapy and Active Afterschool Holiday Club.

Hire

The Hideaway is available for hire for outside use for parties etc.                                                                            To book, contact Hideaway Secretary, Amanda Eckersley, on 07768 898035

Get involved.

The Supporters’ Council meets approximately every 2 months, usually on a Tuesday evening at 7.30, at Dunscar Conservative Club. Anyone with an interest in the work of the Scout and Guide groups or anything related to the running of the Hideaway is welcome to attend.

At the moment most members of the Supporters’ Council are leaders of the uniformed organisations, parents and other interested persons. We can always do with extra help in arranging upkeep, planning social activities and generally supporting the work of the Hideaway.

An Annual General Meeting is held each year in October when officers for the following year are elected.

The current officers are:-

  • Chairperson – Rev. Chris Jamieson
  • Treasurer – Mr. Graham Dent
  • Secretary – Mrs.  Amanda Eckersley
