Whether you’re looking to connect with God for the first time, looking for a new church home or you’re in town visiting family and friends: you are our guest.

We hope you’ll experience the presence of God on Sunday and see what He is doing in Walmsley Parish. We do understand you might have a few questions before you come, so here is some helpful information:

When do you meet?

Our  weekly Sunday services are held at  9:30 am at Christ Church Walmsley and 11:00 am at St Andrew’s.  [Both services have a Junior Church or Sunday School. See separate section below.] These are usually service of Holy Communion, but please check for any updates on our Walmsley Parish Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/walmsleyparish or by accessing the latest Walmsley Parish E-News:

Plan to arrive a few minutes early so you can park, say hello, and find a seat. After the service, join us for a cup of tea and a biscuit (or two).

On the FIRST SUNDAY of the month at Christ Church Walmsley, there is a quiet service at 8am using the Book of Common Prayer, followed at 9.30am by the monthly FAMILY SERVICE, with lively worship and music led by River of Life … and with an opportunity for children to get involved in accompanying on percussion!!  We are pleased also to welcome our uniformed organisations for PARADE during term time.

On the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays at 6pm, there are services of Evensong – using the Book of Common Prayer – at Christ Church Walmsley, held in the Dimple Chapel.

There is also a Wednesday morning service at Christ Church at 11am: a wonderfully friendly and intimate service, with time for a cuppa and some fellowship with like minded folks ‘of a certain age’. You are sure of a warm welcome … and hymns are often sung.

On a Thursday at 6pm, there is an ALL-AGE Family worship / Kids’ Communion Service, which run term time only. [Please note: there will be NO Thursday evening service following the lively, first Sunday of the month Family Service at Walmsley Church.]

What should I expect?

Expect to spend time in praise and worship, prayer, teaching and community. Our services last 45-60 minutes.

Reading through Our Beliefs will also help you understand who we are and what you can expect when you visit.

What should I wear?

In Walmsley Parish, all fashion styles are welcome.

The focus is on Christ, so there’s no need to dress up unless you want to, and most of our attendees dress casually.

Are children welcome?

Absolutely! We have family services at Christ Church (first Sunday of the month) and St Andrew’s (third Sunday of the month). Plus the special all age Thursday evening worship during TERM TIME:

Plus, we have Junior Church and Turton Youth Church activities throughout the year.
