at Christ Church Walmsley: Mondays in Lent at 7pm from 20 Feb
This year we are trying to “dish up something different”!
Our Lent course is called “Christ and the Chocolaterie” and we hope it will be an innovative and lively course, inspired by the film Chocolat, which in turn was based on the bestselling novel by Joanne Harris. We are using the film as a starting point for exploring issues about God, the world and what it means to be human.
There are five sessions after the film showing on Monday 20 February, and each session includes extracts from the film, group discussions, exercises, meditations, suggestions for individual reading and related Bible passages.
There will also be an opportunity to look at the history of chocolate, the unfair economics of chocolate and we are planning a Jacob’s Join at the end of the course.
If you would like to participate, please indicate if you are interested to angie@walmsleyparish.org and come to the first meeting on Mon 20 Feb, which is the showing of the film at Christ Church Walmsley, when light refreshments (including popcorn) – and chocolates – will be provided.

Please note: the book, Christ and the Chocolaterie, accompanying the Lent Course, is available on Amazon for £5.99 or £2.99 on Kindle. It is not essential that people have a copy but it might help.
