New pattern of worship
FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH ONLY (from 7 November)
- 8.00 am quiet, spoken Communion at Christ Church Walmsley;
- 9.30 am FAMILY SERVICE at Christ Church Walmsley (no Communion; no Junior Church);
- 11.00 am Holy Communion at St. Andrew’s, BX (with Sunday School);
- 6.30 pm TURTON YOUTH CHURCH (A lively, fun club for Y6 and over) at St. Andrew’s.
OTHER SUNDAYS
- Christ Church Walmsley: 9.30 am Holy Communion (with separate Junior Church)
- St. Andrew’s: 11.00 am Holy Communion (with Sunday School)
MID-WEEK
- Christ Church Walmsley: Wednesday at 11am – Holy Communion
- Christ Church Walmsley: Thursday at 6pm – INTERACTIVE FAMILY worship

Events
Turton Youth Church is starting again
We are very excited to announce the ‘re-launch’ of TYC with the first session on Sunday 7 November: 6.30 – 7.30pm at St. Andrew’s Church.
This is open to all youngsters across the Turton Moorland Team from YEAR 6 upwards. Please contact Jo Haslam (ALM for Youth Ministry) on turtonyouthchurch@gmail.com or Rev Hannah Lane (Assistant Team Curate) on lane.hk8@gmail.com to let them know you will be there.
Confirmation 2021
Bishop Mark Ashcroft will confirm our candidates at St Peter’s Church, Belmont on Sunday 21st November 2021 at 3pm.
Jan Bennett and Jo Haslam are running preparation meetings at St Maxentius Church on the following Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 8pm:
- 2nd November
- 9th November
- 16th November
Children from Y7 and above from across the team are welcome to join them. Adult candidates: please let your church know you are interested and a separate group will be organised.
It would be helpful to know in advance if you are going to be attending to have a rough estimate of numbers, so please could parents contact Jan Bennett – ALM at St. Maxentius – with the name of their son or daughter and their contact details. Please email: jan_bennett@hotmail.co.uk
Other News
Registers for admission to church schools
Registers for admission to church schools will begin w/c Sunday 7 November. Anyone is of course welcome to attend any service, but please note the services eligible for an attendance mark:
- Sunday 9.30am at Christ Church Walmsley;
- Sunday 11am at St. Andrew’s;
- Thursday 6pm at Christ Church Walmsley: the new EVENING family friendly service at Christ Church Walmsley commencing Thursday 11 November
To keep a log of attendance, each family will be issued with their own card, which will be stamped / signed by a designated church representative; a copy of weekly attendance will also be kept in church. There will be one ‘tick’ for your child and one for the parent(s).
