The Hideaway & Uniformed Organisations
Uniformed Organisations News
Following the regular pleas for help with Rainbows, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and The Hideaway Supporters’ Council, we are delighted to announce that we have three new leaders and a new chair.
Please join us in welcoming Kaylie Crompton and Lindsey Allport as the new Rainbow Leaders. Kaylie will be familiar to some of you because she is, also, our Parish Safeguarding Officer.
Our new Cub Leader is Stef and Carolyn Crosland is the new Chair of The Hideaway Supporters’ Council.
We are excited to see the new ideas and developments they will bring to the groups and committee.
We have also had the kind offer from one of our regular parishioners, Shirley Lewer, to provide cover at Rainbows when needed. Thank you, Shirley!
As always, we are still in need of new Leaders and new members of The Hideaway Supporters’ Council. Please give this some thought and see what you can commit to.
Thank you,
All members of the Uniformed Groups and The Hideaway Supporters’ Council.’
The Hideaway Supporters’ Council exists to support the work of Christ Church Walmsley, Scouting and Guiding groups, and to maintain and develop the Hideaway building.

- 14th (Christ Church Walmsley) Brownies
78th Bolton Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
The Building is also the home of Egerton Playgroup, Stargaze Dance Academy, Walmsley Junior Church, Sue Cain Sound Therapy and Active Afterschool Holiday Club.

The Supporters’ Council meets approximately every 2 months, usually on a Tuesday evening at 7.30, at Dunscar Conservative Club. Anyone with an interest in the work of the Scout and Guide groups or anything related to the running of the Hideaway is welcome to attend.
At the moment most members of the Supporters’ Council are leaders of the uniformed organisations, parents and other interested persons. We can always do with extra help in arranging upkeep, planning social activities and generally supporting the work of the Hideaway.
An Annual General Meeting is held each year in October when officers for the following year are elected.
The current officers are:-
-
Chairperson –Carolyn Crosland
-
Treasurer – Mr. Graham Dent
-
Secretary – Mrs. Amanda Eckersley
