WELCOME & ‘READING IN’ of NEW DEACONS: Rev Angie Foster & Rev Jan Bennett

At the beginning of Services on Sunday 6 July – following their ORDINATION as DEACONS at Manchester Cathedral the previous Sunday – Reverend Angie Foster and Reverend Jan Bennett were formally admitted at the ‘READING IN’ ceremony by Team Rector, Reverend Ian Hepburn, at Christ Church Walmsley and at St. Maxentius Church. We wish them every blessing in their new ministries.

Rev Ian Hepburn posted:

Revd’s Angie and Jan – It was such a joy to ‘read you in’ to the Turton Moorland Team churches this morning. You’re now proper official! Congratulations on your new roles as Ordained Deacons. I’m thrilled to have such great colleagues and to see your ministries develop and flourish.

Rev Ian also shared what a privilege it had been for he and Revd Angie to marry Stephen and Katie at St Anne’s Church on Saturday adding:

” They left in style and no top hats were harmed going through the lychgate!”
