A JOYFUL and BLESSÈD EASTER – Sunday 5 April 2026

Such a joyful Easter Morn 🙏🏼❤️🫶

It was wonderful to be led by Rev’d Ian Hepburn at the 8am BCP service and then to welcome Canon Anne Edwards (senior Chaplain to the Bishop of Manchester) at the 9:30 Service of Holy Communion.

The Easter flowers were glorious; thank you to the ‘Flower Team’ – Anne McC, Kath R, Kim C, Marlene H & Wendy B – for your skills in floral arrangement.

Before the 9:30 service, Kathryn Smethurst gave a beautiful rendition of Kendrick’s ‘Thorn in the Straw’ (Since the day the Angel came …) and River of Life sang and played brilliantly throughout; thank you. The youngsters (and the delightful Ken H) joined in with gusto when given the opportunity to play a percussion accompaniment 🎉

Canon Anne Edwards again invited the children to join her around the Altar Table before the Eucharist and there were plenty of volunteers 💖

It was a fabulously full church as we all declared “Hallelujah! Christ is risen!” ✝️

And at St. Andrew’s Church, BX, Rev’d Marcus Bulcock’s Service for Easter Sunday was just right: filled with humility and thankfulness.

A photo of the children in Sunday School collecting Easter eggs in the garden before it started to rain… However, the children also found a very friendly mouse enjoying himself amongst the hidden chocolate…!!

At share time, the children had made various Easter crafts and made cross necklaces. Thank you, Grace Cheeseman, for the Easter flowers in church.
And, as per usual, St Andrew’s had lots of Easter treats afterwards with our coffee – Katie made cakes and we also had hot cross buns.
